Balmoral Hotel - at the very north end of the lake, this property was owned by Laughton Mclean and later John Franklin Jr, son of the pioneer. The hotel was built by Roy Mortimore in 1922, it was operated by the Mortimore family for many years. A Mr Bernstein operated the lodge in the 1940s -50s. It featured a vintage steam engine to power the laundry. Also, it had a dance hall close to the lakeshore. It later became a nursing home.

The long dock is because of the shallowness of the water in this area.
