The Crusader was popular during the 1940 and 50s for sunset cruises and river trips to Swift Rapids, Big Chute and many shore picnics. It was based at the Stanton Bros Store, Port Stanton.

The private boat Cuba ,(below) was used to cross the bay to get mail and groceries from the Stanton Bros Store. Helen's Isle was the site of the present Wild Echo Resort. It appears to be a pedal boat.
